We brought this product in-house with the plan to use it across the company but it is only used by our Information Technology group at this time. We use it to keep track off almost all projects company-wide. The hope was to use it for capacity planning, cost planning and eventually the tool our Steering Committee would use for their meetings.
  • If you just want basic information on your projects, a place to keep the information, this system will work for you.
  • It is good for mini projects like Service Request
  • You have too many steps to make what should be simple changes like closing a project or service request.
  • Additional cost required for necessary reports, changes made to the system like adding a new Status or emailing a status report
  • Can take weeks or months to resolve a ticket when it's turned in, lots of back and forth with their help desk. Told numerous times it the problem is our internet browser, our settings only to discover it was a problem on their end.
  • Not as user friendly as they lead you to believe. We are still unable to provide a useful dashboard for our leadership, we pull information and have to manually make changes to get the information we need.
If you need a tool for small projects only and you do not require a lot of interaction between them this tool may work for you.
  • This product has actually caused major frustration for the IT team and we were never able to deploy it past IT.
  • none
This product was brought into the company by Customer Service but then the director left so it was never used and IT thought we would try it out. After 2 years we are no further along then we were before just more frustrated.

The product is just not fitting our needs so we are looking at other alternatives. The system has gone down 3 times in the last 6 months and was down for at least half a day, timesheets have duplicate tasks, and it takes too long to save and submit. When trying to process updates it randomly changes our dates so we have to go back and fix them, sometimes tasks are lost and the system is just very confusing and hard to manipulate.

EPM Live is used as a project management solution for the employees of the consulting firm. The firm requires that any new projects that are started should be recorded through EPM Live. This will give the users easy access to the project information when needed.
  • EPM Live has several modules that users can use for their project management solutions.
  • EPM Live can be customized by the company that is using it.
  • It integrates well with Microsoft products.
  • EPM Live is not easy to customize, there should be an easy way to get to the setting for customization.
  • EPM Live should add a way to create tables in forms that need to be used.
The key question is whether or not EPM Live can provide the type of project management solution that a company needs.
  • Using EPM Live has saved time across the board. It is assumed that using EPM Live saved $24000 per year.
  • It has made it easy to track any new projects and project timelines.
EPM Live is being used because it is comparatively easy to customize compared to other project management solutions and because it is based on SharePoint.
EPM Live will be used in the future since all new projects are being managed by it.

It is being used by IT to understand the upcoming workload for each department, and to be able to get a holistic view of the upcoming projects. The reporting piece is also heavily used for reports sent out to executives, and to the company in general. The timesheet functionality is also used, although it is just for the IT resources, and not the whole company
  • Flexible tool that can be configured to users needs
  • Great flow between different parts of the tool, such as timesheet, resources, and projects
  • The new UI is really easy to use
  • Performance is not always consistent. There are periods of time where everything goes wrong with the tool, and there are times when everything just goes perfect. It seems like a cycle that lasts couple months.
  • Support is not that great in terms of solutions provided. Most of the time the support responses are not helpful at all.
  • The vendor is not proactive in planning the releases specific to customer. We had many issues because of inadequate release planning.
The tool is great if you are using all aspects of it. If you are going to use only one part of the tool, Project List for example, the full benefits are not realized. Make sure to not customize the solution too much, and try to align your processes with what the tool can offer as much as you can. The tool become unstable really quick with additional customization.
  • Better understanding of IT workload
  • Ability to determine who to hire when
  • Ability to slot the projects with more realistic expectations, and more solid data
EPM was easier to use, with better and simpler UI. The product was also a great combination of price and functionality compared to other tools
Overall, the tool gives us exactly what we want. Although there are times where we get frustrated with the vendors clear immature nature, they are working really hard, and improving fast. The current roadmap they have for their product is impressive, and is greatly promising.
